It may seem like Mother’s Day is ages from now, but it’s actually just a few weeks away! Mother’s Day is May 8th this year, and we’re already halfway through April. Rather than scrambling and searching for “florist near me” on May 7th, plan ahead this year and come to Every Day Bouquet! While your mom will say that those flowers you picked up at the grocery store at the last minute are beautiful, we both know she deserves better than that.
Here are some of our favorite ways to make the mother in your life feel special with flowers.
Say something with flowers.
Whether it’s for a special occasion or “just because,” you should always choose flowers with the recipient in mind. Most everyone has heard of the Victorian Language of Flowers. It was a complex and cryptic code that the Victorians used to send messages and convey warnings as well as express romantic feelings. While many of the more specific and nuanced meanings have fallen out of use, the symbolism of certain flowers still remains. We still associate red roses with romantic love and carnations still make us think of love, beauty, faith, and charity, all very motherly virtues.
Choose them just for her.
If cryptic Victorian flower codes are not the way you and your mom communicate, there are simpler ways to pick flowers just for her. If her favorite flower is in season, our florists can build a bouquet around it. But if you’re not sure what her favorite flower is, we can work with her favorite color as well.
